What was the first Carbon Fiber Bike?
The first time that a bicycle featuring a Carbon Fiber frame was used in competition was in the late 1980s. The bike was made by a very famous rider and manufacturer of bicycles, Greg Lemond.
Greg, a 3 time winner of the Tour De France and his team of professionals were responsible for bringing the use of Carbon Fiber to the masses and making the then space age material common place in sports today.
The LeMond brand and designs were designed and manufacturerd with another large bike maker, Trek. The bikes are designed by Greg and then built and distributed by Trek and feature Gregs name, logo and branding.
